Practicing proper handwashing techniques is one of the most important things we can do to help stop the spread of COVID-19. But around the world, particularly in vulnerable communities, the lack of access to quality soap and handwashing education poses a significant challenge.
To support the World Health Organization (WHO) and its hashtag#SafeHands campaign, Design Bridge clients at Colgate-Palmolive are taking action by mobilising their production facilities to create a new soap and donating 25 million bars around the world to regions that need them most.
In response, the New York Design bridge team donated their time and expertise by teaming up and collaborating with Colgate’s Global Design Team on the soap packaging. The design is simple and bold, with 12 illustrations that communicate proper handwashing instructions in a way that is easily understood around the globe as part of the hashtag#SafeHands message and commitment to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
Production is already underway, and the soap will be distributed globally by a number of NGOs, including UNICEF.
